Lamborghini launched their third Grand Tourer in 1968 and it was again a bit larger than the car it replaced. The engine was similar as the 400 GT's but it was uprated to 325 bhp for the first version, the GT, and to 350 bhp for this, the GTS version. Touring had gone bottom's up so Lamborghini had to look for another firm for the body design. Carrozzeria Marazzi was a logical choice as it was funded by Mario Marazzi, an old employee of Touring. The Islero is not as popular as the 350 GT and 400 GT.
