Chassis:
Built new for the inaugural season of the Formula 1 World Championship, chassis 110054 was sold new to Philippe Entancelin but fielded as a works entry that year. The car was extensively raced in period by Etancelin himself but also by Louis Rosier and Froilan Gonzales. Following the 1954 season, it was sold to the United States, where its career continued. At the time already fitted with a Corvette engine, it was converted into a sports car in 1960. Passing through the hands of several subsequent owners, it was eventually acquired by historic racer Peter Giddings. He had Steven Griswold restore the car to its original configuration. Before selling it to the current owner in recent, Giddings raced the car in historic events on 60 tracks and in 18 countries.
