Chassis:
Chassis 5845 was sold new to Austrian Gotfrid Koechert, who first raced the car in local events during the 1964 season. After he crashed the car, Koechert had it repaired at the factory. It was next raced to victory in the 1965 Austrian Grand Prix by Jochen Rindt. Later in the year, it was sold to the United States where it was repainted in the American racing colours of white with a blue stripe. It was raced in this guise by Arthur Swanson and Robert Ennis on both sides of the Atlantic in 1966 and 1967. During the 1970s, it was modified for road use and spent most of the following decades in Japanese hands. During the early 2000s, it was owned by French collector/broker Jean Guikas, who eventually sold it at RM Auctions' 2008 Maranello sale for just over Euro 4.5 million.
