Chassis:
Although completed in the summer of 1951, the first documented outing for this 212 Export Touring Berlinetta was the 1953 Mille Miglia. Chassis 0112E was entered by first owner Marquis Gerino Gerini but failed to finish. He had more luck a few weeks later when he won the Scala di Giocca Osilo hillclimb. At the end of the year, he sold the car and in 1955 it was sold to an Italian living in Australia. The third 212 Export Touring Berlinetta remained 'down under' until 2000 when it was acquired by Sir Anthony Bamford. A few years later, it was bought by a Dutch enthusiast, who re-painted the car green. Now back in Italian hands, it has competed in several Mille Miglia retrospectives.
