Chassis:
This 47 GT was sold new to Lotus Midwest in the United States. Early in the 1970s, it was acquired by Mike Rahal, who initially raced it with Horst Kroll. It was later also driven by Mike's son Bobby, who would go on to much greater things. In 1973, Mike Rahal sold to the lovely Lotus to Doak Bentz, who retained it until 2009. It was then bought back by Bobby Rahal, who at the time collected many of his early competition cars. Upon arrival at the Rahal Letterman shop, the car was completely restored and prepared for historic racing. Rahal then fielded (one of) his first racing car(s) in the 2010 Monterey Motorsports Reunion.
