Chassis:
The penultimate works D-Type built, chassis XKD 605 was only raced once by the factory team; to victory in the Reims 12 Hours in the hands of Duncan Hamilton and Ivor Bueb. It was subsequently lent to Briggs Cunningham and raced sporting the American racing colours of white with two blue stripes. Mike Hawthorn and Bueb used it to place second at Sebring in 1957. The car was returned to England in 1961 and restored to its original colours. It was later displayed for many years in the Biscaretti museum in Turin and today, XKD 605 is still owned by the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust.
