Chassis:
The penultimate 375 MM Pinin Farina Spyder built, this example was sold new to William Spear. He first raced the car, together with Phil Hill, at the 1954 Sebring 12 Hours. An axle failure prompted an early retirement at the Ferrari's debut. In the remainder of the year, Spear had more luck in local events, scoring several victories. It continued to be raced by two subsequent owners until early 1964. In 1972, it was acquired by automotive enthusiast Ian Gunn for the princely sum of $10,000. He briefly raced the car in historic events and never had it restored. Following his death in 2008, it re-emerged from his garage in highly original condition and was acquired by the current owner in 2010.
