Chassis:
Finished in Azzurro Metallizzato or metallic blue, this 275 GTB/4 NART Spyder was picked up at the factory by Ferrari enthusiast Eddie 'George' Smith together with his friend Luigi Chinetti. Following a brief tour of Italy's finest roads, chassis 10709 was shipped to Lexington, Carolina. Smith cherished the NART Spyder and used it both for daily commutes and his annual ventures to Sebring together with his son Eddie Jr. for the 12 Hours. Smith later also regularly showed the car at Ferrari events around North America until his death in 2007. The Smith family retained the Ferrari until the summer of 2013 when was offered for charity at the RM Auctions Monterey Sale. Although re-painted red, chassis 10709 has survived in remarkably original condition and this one-owner NART Spyder changed hands for a staggering $27.5 million.
