Chassis:
The fourth and final 250 Europa GT equipped with a lightweight aluminium 'Berlinetta' body by Pinin Farina, chassis 0415GT was sold new to Alfonso de Portago. He entered the car in the 1955 Nassau Speed Week, where he finished fourth, winning his class and scoring Ferrari's first GT victory. In 1956 De Portago also won the Oporto Grand Prix in this car. Returned to Ferrari for testing, the 250 Europa GT was sadly fatally crashed by factory test driver Sighinolfi. Fully repaired, it was later sold to the United States, where it eventually lost its original engine. The current owner acquired the car in 1993 and had it fully restored to its original configuration complete with the correct engine. It has since been regularly campaigned in events like the Mille Miglia. After owning chassis 0415GT for two decades, the owner consigned the rare competition Ferrari to Gooding & Co. for their 2013 Pebble Beach auction.
