Chassis:
Although sold to the Belgium's Ecurie Francorchamps for Jean Blaton or 'Beurlys', this Tour de France was originally finished in red with a black stripe. Following several successful outings early in 1959, it was repainted in the more familiar red with a yellow stripe ahead of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Blaton shared the car with Léon Dernier or 'Eldé' to finish third overall and first in class. It was eventually sold to Europe where the now damaged, original engine was replaced with a new 250 GT SWB V12. During a restoration in the 1980s, the later V12 was replaced by a more correct example. The current owner acquired chassis 1321GT in 2011 and had it refurbished and repainted by Wayne Obry's Motion Products Inc.
