Chassis:
Used in Audi's sports car racing debut at the 1999 Sebring 12 Hours, chassis was entered for Michele Alboreto, Dindo Capello and Stefan Johansson. The three experienced drivers qualified the R8R 12th on the grid. During the race, they moved all the way up to third in the ever gruelling Sebring 12 Hours to claim a podium for Audi at the German manufacturer's debut. Replaced for Le Mans by a new version of the R8R, chassis 205 was not used again. Retained by Audi, it was seen here at the 2014 Techno Classica where the 15th anniversary of Audi's sports car racing program was celebrated.
