Chassis:
Completed early in the summer of 1950, this 166 MM Touring Barchetta was sold new to a Portuguese gentleman racer. Raced in minor events, the car remained in Portugal until well into the 1960s. It was eventually sold to South Africa and chassis 0056M was acquired by the current owners in the early 1970s. Since the 1990s, the car has made several appearances in Europe for the Mille Miglia retrospective. Prepared by DK Engineering, it was also raced in the Freddie March Memorial Trophy during the 2011 Goodwood Revival.
