Chassis:
Built by Group 44 for the 1978 Trans-Am championship, this chassis was used for all ten rounds as well as the Daytona season finale. It won seven straight Trans-Am races allowing Bob Tullius and Jaguar to defend the driver's and manufacturer's titles respectively. Following the highly successful 1978 season, chassis 78-44 was retired and retained in Tullius' personal collection. He was finally persuaded by the current owner to sell the Trans-Am championship winning car in December of 2007. Preserved in time-warp condition, it did require only very little work to be returned to full running order. Following instructions from original builder Lawton Foushee to the letter, Jaguar experts CKL Developments replaced several worn components and welded several cracks in the body. The work was completed in time for the 2012 Goodwood Festival of Speed where it is pictured.
