Chassis:
Although originally delivered with an inside plug engine to its original owner, Jean-Pierre Schild from Switzerland, chassis 1519GT was upgraded to the latest specification before the 1959 Tour de France. Piloted by Schild and Roger de Lageneste, it finished the race third overall. A few days later, Schild drove it to GT victory in the Coupes de Salon at Montlhéry. Soon after, it was sold to the United States where it was briefly raced until it was crashed. The remains were eventually acquired by John Damron, who sold the project on to the current owner in 2012. A complete restoration followed, which was ready in time for the 2014 Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este. Here the car was seen in public for the first time in nearly 50 years.
