Chassis:
Originally used with a Colli coupe body by Juan Manuel Fangio to finish second in the 1953 Mille Miglia, chassis 00128 later served a long career as a Pinin Farina show car with four distinctly different design. Following its tour through the United States, the Superflow IV rather unceremoniously ended up on a used-car lot. The ex-works Alfa Romeo was fortunately rescued by Colorado based enthusiast Howard Wignal, who owned the car for many years. The car eventually joined Peter Kaus' superb Rosso Bianco Museum where it remained until the complete collection was sold off in 2005. Now part of a prominent North American collection, it was meticulously restored by Tillack & Co. before being shown at the 2013 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. The Superflow IV received universal praise and many suggested it was an ideal candidate to become the first post-War winner of the coveted Pebble Beach 'Best of Show' award in the modern era. This was not to be but it did win its class and also received 'The Vitesse - Elegance Trophy.'
