Finished in the easily recognisable livery with a white and dark-blue stripe, this 300S was sold new to prominent American privateer Tony Parravano. It was first raced by Masten Gregory, who finished second at Palm Springs in December of 1955 and later also finished third at the Nassau Trophy. In January of 1956, Gregory won at Torrey Pines. Parravano fled the country later in the decade to avoid the IRS and some of his cars, including 3058, were hidden away in Mexico. The cars re-emerged in 1977 and the 300S soon after joined the prominent Hayashi collection in Japan. In 2000, it was acquired by the current French enthusiast, who has since raced it in historic events like the Le Mans Classic.
