Chassis:
Originally fitted with a Pinin Farina Spyder body, this 250 Monza was sold new to privateer racer Franco Cornacchia. He only briefly campaigned the car before selling it on to fellow Italian Luigi Piotti, who raced the car with considerable success during the remainder of the 1954 season. In 1955, it was driven by Erasmo Simeoni from Venice, with a 15th place finish in that year's Mille Miglia as the most noteworthy result. Chassis 0432M was then acquired by Ferrari's American agent Luigi Chinetti. Before shipping the car to the United States, Chinetti dropped it off at Scaglietti, where a new 'pontoon fender' nose was fitted. It is believed that this was the very first Ferrari with this body type, which would later be made famous by the production 250 TRs. Finished in American racing colours of white with a blue stripe, it was briefly raced in North America where it received the nickname 'loud mouth'. It has since passed through the hands of noted collectors Peter G. Sachs, Antoine Midy and Peter Agg. The current owner acquired the car in 2013 and had it completely restored ahead of the car's first public appearance for over 15 years at the 2014 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance.
