Following its show car duties, the original Ford Mustang I Roadster was put in storage for several years. Fortunately, it was eventually saved by the Henry Ford Museum, who added the car to its collection in 1974. Beautifully preserved, it is today part of the museum's permanent Driving America exhibit. To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Ford Mustang production car, it made a rare appearance at the 2014 McCall Motorworks Revival and a few days later at the Quail, a Motorsports Gathering.
