Painted a striking red, this Carrera RSR 2.8 was delivered new to German privateer racer Georg Loos for his Gelo Racing Team. It debuted at the 1973 Nürburgring 1000 km race where it was driven to 13th by Loos and Jürgen Barth. At Le Mans, the two Germans placed a more than commendable 10th overall and second in class. While Loos himself stepped up to a new three-litre RSR at the start of the following season, Barth raced the car at Le Mans once more with Franz Pesch. An engine failure, however, brought an end to this RSR's final contemporary outing.
