Acquired new by Ford Racing of Argentina, this M8C was destined for the South-American Sport Prototipo championship. Fitted with a Ford V8, it was raced by works driver Carlos Pairetti during the 1971 season. He clinched an outright victory in the championship round at Buenos Aires. Eventually sold to the United States, it was re-fitted with a more competitive Chevrolet V8 engine for historic racing. All the original components to fit the Ford engine like the mountings and bell-housing were retained. From the 1990s, it was campaigned by the same owner for around 25 years in historic events mostly on the West Coast of the United States. In 2017, it was acquired by the next owner, who is also based out of California.
