Chassis:
Sold new to Clifford Kearns, this is the tenth and final 934½ produced. Kearns campaigned the car with limited success in the Trans-Am and IMSA championships. It was crashed at Daytona at the 1978 Finale Races suffering front corner damage. The car was sold to Dan McLaughlin, who sent the car to specialists A.I.R. for repairs. Instead, the tub was stripped of its parts and used to construct a 935 using a bare shell. This car was assigned DMV 470 12CA and continued to be campaigned. The damaged 934½ tub was eventually repaired and acquired by Kevin Jeanette. In his spare time, the noted Porsche specialist rebuilt the car to its original specifications. It was finally ready to be raced at the 2013 Monterey Motorsports Reunion by Jeanette’s son Gunnar. It was subsequently sold to prominent collector David MacNeil of WeatherTech fame. Run for him by Alex Job Racing, it continued to be raced at select historic events until it was acquired by a Canadian historic racer early in 2023.
