Chassis:
This is Bruce McLaren's own McLaren M6 GT, and the only one not built by Trojan. Bruce drove the car regularly on the road until his untimely death in the spring of 1970. With him, the road-going McLaren project died. This car was acquired by his longtime team-mate and good friend Denny Hulme and shipped over to both men's native New Zeeland. For many years it was displayed here in the Auckland Museum of Transportation. McLaren's own M6 GT was later part of the fantastic Matthews Collection. Still in highly original condition, it is today owned by another prominent American McLaren collector. He shipped it over to the United Kingdom for the 2015 Goodwood Revival where the life of Bruce McLaren was celebrated. It was demonstrated on Saturday and Sunday by Bruce's daughter, who still remembered being driven around in the car by her father when she was a little girl.
