Chassis:
Following the car's retirement from contemporary racing, the car was stored for many years by the Kremer brothers. In 1999, it was sold to the United States, where it changed hands several times, before it was sold to its current, Swiss owner in 2004. He had the one-off 935 L1 comprehensively restored to full running order, retaining all of the original 935 K3 body panels fitted to the car during the second of the 1980 season. The work was done by marque specialist Marc de Siebenthal and the invoices for the no expense spared work eventually exceeded EUR 600,000. Still fitted with the later, three-litre engine, it has since been extensively raced in historic events throughout Europe. The original, 1.4-litre engine is understood to still be owned by Lundgardh himself.
