Completed in July of 1969, this M10A was sold to American Bob Esseks. He entered cars for Sam Posey, and this car is understood to be his spare during the remainder of the 1969 season. Esseks then raced the car himself until a heavy accident at Mid Ohio. To get his car back to full running order quickly, he rebuilt it using a spare monocoque supplied by Trojan. The repaired car was then acquired by Merle Brennan, who raced it three times in 1972, winning at each outing. Subsequent owner, Jan Labell used it to great effect winning the 1976 and 1977 SCCA NorPac FA title. It was then raced in historic events until it was acquired by Wes McNay and Henry Alexander in 1988. During each change of ownership, the original but damaged chassis had been part of the deal and it was now decided to repair the tub and rebuilt the car properly. The repaired car was then raced extensively in historic events by McNay into the 2000s. Subsequent owner Dave Isselhard unsuccessfully offered to sell it at auction in 2012 but it has since been acquired by a historic racer from New Zealand. He had chassis 300-09 restored once more, using the colours of the factory team and fitting it with a high rear wing as used only in the first half of 1969. After 1988, the spare chassis was sold on and it has since been built up again as a complete car as well. (Source: Oldracingcars.com)
