Chassis:
Shown at the 1953 Geneva Motor Show, this is the second of a believed three open PF200 show cars built by Pinin Farina on Aurelia underpinnings. It was referred to as the PF200 C and featured a two-position windscreen, suggesting that this was the competition version of the car. It was shown at the Turin Motor Show later that same year and then appeared at the Stresa International Concours d'Elegance. At that time, it was fitted with a proper windshield. The car won a Grand Prize Honour and received a plaque that is still mounted on the dashboard today. Chassis 1052 also boasted Milan plates at that time, suggesting that it had been sold to and registered by its first private owner.
During the 1960s, the car surfaced in the United States and in 1968 it was acquired by Michigan based engineer, William Borrusch. He eventually submitted the car to a complete restoration by Tom Palisi after Borrusch had moved to Florida in the mid-1990s. The body-off restoration took close to a decade as a lot of research was required to find all the details of this one-off show car. The work was finally completed in 2013, and Borrusch then showed the car successfully at several events. He then sold the car at auction to fellow Florida-based collector Orin Smith. He brought the car back to Italy in 2015 for the Concorso d'Eleganza d'Este where the car won its class.
