Chassis:
One of the very last B19s built, this car was sold to South African Ray Abrahams late in 1971. It was raced by his son John and Dirk Marais in the Springbok series. In 1972, it was shipped back to England and offered for sale. Chassis B19-71-30 was then sold to France where it was raced by Emile Elias. Continuously updated, it was then campaigned by its subsequent French owners in contemporary events until 1981. The car then went to Richard Budge, who fielded in historic events for himself but also Vin Malkie and Helen Bashford during the 1980s. Still in Budge's ownership, it was raced again from 1999 by among others former Formula 1 driver Mike Wilds. During the 2000s, it passed through various hands until it was acquired by Jonathan Loader in 2005. He raced the car extensively around Europe for over a decade. Ahead of the 2019 season, it was acquired by a Portuguese historic racer, who had it restored to its original Rays livery.
