Chassis:
Finished in a metallic blue and equipped with Solex carburettors, this road-going 250 GT SWB was delivered new to French distributor Franco-Brittanic Autos. They immediately displayed the car at the Paris Auto Salon, where it was bought by the first owner from the stand. Before taking delivery, the new owner had the car painted black by famous French coachbuilder Chapron. During the 1960s, it passed through several hands but always remained in French ownership. At some point, it was re-painted once more, this time to red. The current custodian acquired chassis 2917GT in 1969 and has since used avidly on France's many great backroads but it was only rarely seen at public events. After close to five decades of ownership, it has now been consigned to the 2016 Artcurial Le Mans Classic sale.
