This Chevron B36 was delivered new to American gentleman racer Gordon Hamilton Jr., who had it fitted with a Ford Cosworth BDG engine. Hamilton raced the car extensively in local events for three seasons. He won the B/SR class of the 1978 SCCA Midwest Division. In 1980, it was acquired by Nile Lestrange, who continued to race the car and won the class championship in the SCCA South East Division. After the successful 1980 season, the car was put in dry storage by Lestrange where it remained for 27 years. Through Grand Prix Classics, it was soon after sold to a Swiss enthusiast, who commissioned a ground-up, €200,000 restoration.
