Chassis:
Built ahead of the 1957 season to the 200SI specifications, this car was acquired new by Italian private racer Attilio Buffa. He campaigned the car in several Italian events like the 1957 Giro di Sicilia and the 1958 Targa Florio. In 1958, he also used the car to finish 2nd overall in the Napoli Grand Prix. By the late 1960s, the well preserved car was sold on to French racer Jean Guichet, who later loaned the car to Pierre Bardinon. Among the subsequent owners was Henri Chambon and it has now been in Austrian hands for over a decade. It has survived in highly original condition and it is understood to be the only 1950s Maserati sports racer to have retained its original paint.
