This is the very first Type 15 V16, which was campaigned for four seasons. After its retirement it was retained by Owen and used for exhibitions. It eventually ended up in the Beaulieu Collection / National Motor Museum in the South of Englands. They have proven great custodians and kept the car in full running order. In 2008 it was brought out for the 2008 Goodwood Revival Meeting where the Goodwood Legends were celebrated. It was here that the V16 won its first race, so it was a fitting occasion to exercise the machine. Unfortunately it showed its evil side by overheating before the first outing, setting part of the bodywork on fire. The mechanics got it somewhat sorted and the car did two runs although it never seemed to run on 16 cylinders.
