Chassis:
Equipped for street use, this 550 Spyder was sold new to West Coast based television executive Willett H. Brown. He owned the car only briefly and sold it within a year and with just 634 miles on the odometer. The next owner took more of a liking to the car and used it for well over 10,000 miles before selling it. He probably sold it because he had enjoyed it so much that he decided to raise capital for a Porsche dealership. Among the subsequent owners were Fred Sebald, who also had an exotic car dealership and noted collector George Reilly. In more recent years, it formed part of a prominent North America based private collection. Cherished throughout its life, it has never been restored and instead has been preserved in virtual time-warp condition. This was acknowledged at the 2010 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, where it received the FIVA award for the best preserved car on the field.
