To replace the Mazda RX-7 he had raced during the previous seasons, this 635 CSI was acquired late in 1983 by German privateer Fritz Müller. Liveried in the colours of his white beer brewing company Müllerbrau, Müller campaigned the BMW in the European Touring Car Championship in a handful of events.
