Sold new to the great Tazio Nuvolari, this car was raced extensively by the 'Flying Mantuan' during the 1934 season. Halfway through the year, it was fitted with a six-cylinder engine to bring it up to 6C/34 specification. In this guise, the car was driven to victory by Nuvolari at a pair of minor Italian races. Chassis 3018 was eventually acquired by Tom Wheatcroft and displayed for many years in his fantastic Donington Grand Prix Collection museum.
