Chassis:
Built to Comp/61 specification, this 250 GT SWB was sold new to Garage Francorchamps. The Belgian team fielded the car for Jacques van den Haute and later for Robert Crevits, who won several hill climb races during the 1961 and 1962 seasons. It was then fielded at the 1962 Le Mans for Georges Berger and Robert Darville but a heavy accident ended their charge early. The remains of the cars were sold to Piero Drogo, who fitted the car with a body of his design and creation. For customs reasons, the Drogo bodied car was renumbered 1965GT and sold to American actor James Coburn. He only owned the car briefly and following a spell in the United States, it was acquired by Dutch collector Pieter Boel. He eventually sold the car on to Hans Hugenholtz, who had it carefully restored. Between 2010 and 2013, it was raced with considerable success by Hugenholtz and David Hart. In November of 2014, it was acquired by the current, Swiss owner. He entrusted the car to Edi Wyss Engineering for a complete restoration to its original configuration. For this purpose, a new aluminium 250 GT SWB body was built by Italian specialists Carrozzeria Brandoli. The work was completed in 2016 and in 2017, chassis 2445GT returned to the track in its Ecurie Francorchamps guise.
