Completed in July of 1964 and finished in blue with a black interior, this DB5 was ordered by none other than musician Paul McCartney of the Beatles. It was actually delivered to his accountant in September of 1965 as the Beatles were on a world tour. McCartney would own the DB5 for six years during which it famously appeared on the Ed Sullivan show and in the film 'A Hard Day's Night'. With around 40,000 miles on the odometer, it changed hands for the first time in around 1970. Following several longtime ownerships, it was acquired by a British collector, who had the car cosmetically restored. Among the subsequent owners was British broadcaster Chris Evans, who bought the appropriate numberplate '64 MAC' for the car. The car changed hands again in 2012 and was then submitted to a ground-up restoration. The work was finally completed in 2017 and shortly thereafter, it was consigned to the Bonhams Bond Street sale.
