Chassis:
One of the new works cars built for the 1974 season, this chassis was entrusted to Arturo Merzario for most that year. Partnering with Mario Andretti, the Italian scored a debut victory with the car from pole in the Monza 1000 km. For the 1975 season, it was entrusted to the Willy Kauhsen Racing Team. Merzario was again behind the wheel, usually along with Jacques Laffite. Together they won at Monza, Dijon and the Nurburgring, while Merzario won at Pergusa with Jochen Massa and in the Targa Florio with local specialist Nino Vaccarella. Not raced again in period, the car was eventually sold to Great Britain. Now in the hands of a German collector and historic racer, it has been restored to its 1974 Monza 1000 km winning livery. For its first competitive outing, it was entrusted by the owner to Derek Bell and Sam Hancock at the 2017 Dix Mille Tours where they ran as high as second overall.
