Chassis: 2211130
Although sold new to an Italian, chassis 2211130 was the first Monza to appear in a British event. This was a May 1933 handicap race at Brooklands, where the Hon. Brian Lewis promptly drove it to victory. While the car was originally painted red, it soon received a splash of British Racing Green. Some sources suggest the car subsequently found its way to Triumph where it served as the basis for the much disputed Dolomite. By 1934 the Monza was reassembled and back racing. Chassis 2211130's contemporary career lasted until 1939.

The Alfa Romeo remained in England and eventually passed into the hands of well known historic racer Patrick Lindsay in the 1960s. He used the car extensively before submitting it to a complete rebuild. Chassis 2211130 remained in the Lindsay family until the late 1990s when it was acquired by its current, Belgian owner. He is pictured in action here during the 2007 Goodwood Revival Meeting.
