Chassis:
Although completed in November of 1962, chassis 4091GT was most likely never raced in its original guise. At the end of 1963 it was returned to the factory where it was fitted with the Pininfarina penned body. The car received the short roof with built in spoiler. The new owner of chassis 4091GT was Edoardo Lualdi, who had become 1962 Italian Hillclimb champion in an earlier 250 GTO (3413GT), which was later also converted to Series 2 specification. He was equally successful in 4091GT, scoring numerous victories during the 1964 season.
Before the start of the next season, the 250 GTO was sold to fellow Italian Clemente Ravetto. He also used the car predominantly for hill-climbs and again with considerable success, taking several class and outright victories. The subsequent owners raced 4091GT briefly in 1966 and 1967 before the 250 GTO was finally retired from contemporary racing. A year later the car was sold to the United States where it has remained ever since. The current owner, a noted Ferrari collector, acquired in 1982. Since then it has made frequent appearances at a wide variety of events. One of the most recent was the 2007 Cavallino Classic, where it is pictured here.
