Chassis:
One of the customer cars destined for the United States, this 450S was sold new to gentleman racer Jim Kimberly. He only briefly raced it with limited success before selling it on to Harry Rollings. He did manage to score some wins in minor races during the 1958 season. Towards the end of the year, it changed hands again and was driven to a class win at the Bahamas Speed Week by Ed Crawford. During the 1960s, the engine and chassis were separated but fortunately these were reunited and the car was completely restored in the second half of the 1980s. In 1999, chassis 4504 was shown at Pebble Beach and soon after, it was acquired by the current owner; a prominent American collector and historic racer.
