Chassis:
One of America's premier designers, Gordon Buehrig penned two Speedster designs for the Weymann Body Company. The first was for short wheelbase chassis and known as the 'Tapertail' Speedster, and the second for a supercharged long wheelbase chassis, dubbed the 'Fishtail' Speedster. The latter was commisioned by Capt. George Whittell, who was an honorary fire marshall. Probably one of the largest two seater cars ever built, the 'Fishtail' Speedster came equipped from the factory with a siren and an emergency light.
Whittell barely used his Duesenberg and when the car was acquired by the famous Harrah Collection in the 1960s, it only had 1342 miles on the counter. Still in absolute original condition, the massive 'Fishtail' Speedster was shown at the 2007 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, where Duesenberg was the featured marque. It was lined up alongside the 'Tapertail' Speedster.
