Chassis:
Featured is a unique Zagato bodied A6G/54, s/n 2155. After it started life as a 'regular' Zagato coupe in 1956, the potent Maserati was sent back to Zagato for a tune-up in 1957. Gianni Zagato took it out for a quick test drive when he crashed it, destroying much of the delicate body panels. Instead of rebuilding it to its original form, the coach builder fitted a more modern style very similar to their proposed 3500 GT body. In the following the car changed appearances almost as often as owners, until it was purchased by the current owner. With help from historian Adolfo Orsi the unique car was restored to its unique 1957 configuration. It remains as one of just two Zagato bodied Maseratis with a 'double bubble' roof. Shortly after the restoration was completed, the unique car was first shown at the 2005 Villa d'Este concours d'elegance where it is pictured.
