Chassis: MP4/2-2
This was the first of two chassis raced by Alain Prost throughout the 1984 season. He used it to score the MP4/2s debut victory in Rio de Janeiro and won a further four Grands Prix in this car. Halfway through the 1985 it was called into service again after being fitted with the 'B-spec' upgrades. In its two appearances, chassis MP4/2-2 took a win at Silverstone and finished second in the German Grand Prix. After its active duty, it was restored back to its original configuration. Still owned by McLaren, the highly successful MP4/2 is seen here on display in the Donnington Grand Prix Collection.
