Chassis:
Like the other two prototypes, chassis X102 was fitted from new with a Vanden Plas body. It became the first example sold to a customer and was delivered in May of 1935. Soon after the lavish Sports Tourer body was replaced with the more spartan Markham body that had the nick-name 'Skimpy'. This was done to make the car more competitive on the racing track. It was sold to a South African soon after and raced extensively in the 1940s. During the 1980s chassis X102 returned to Europe and it was acquired by the current owner in 1995. Beautifully restored it was shown at the 2010 Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este and underling its dual-purpose, raced during the Monaco Historic Grand Prix a week later.
