Chassis:
Presumably the last Tipo 63 built, this car was built with a slightly longer wheelbase to replace Briggs Cunningham's original chassis 63.002. To distinguish it from the other Tipo 63 with the same number it is now commonly referred to as the '63.002 LWB'. Delivered to Cunningham late in 1961, it was only briefly used and with little success. In 1962 Harry Finer entered the car at Riverside and Laguna Seca but at both occasions, the car failed to make it to the start grid. The car has passed through various hands over the years and is today part of a prominent American East Coast Maserati collection.
