The seven Fishers brothers started making carbodies in 1910 and by 1913, they had the capacitiy to produce 100000 vehicles per year. Initially they worked for Cadillac and Buick but also for other companies such as Studebaker, Ford, etc. During the wars, the company also got involved in aircraft and tanks. In 1919 the company was taken over partly by General Motors and in 1926 to the full. In 1984 the name Fisher was discontinued, and the "company" is now an integrated part of the GM production facilities.
