 The cars specification

Some of the cars specification you have given in the panel on the right, actually relates to the standard Series 1 Bagheera. The Bagheera U8 specifications are actually as follows: Length (longer): 4140 mm Width (wider): 1737 mm Height (higher): 1220 mm Wheelbase (longer): 2600 mm Track (front): 1381 mm Track (rear): 1442 mm Weight (heavier): 1202 kg Fuel tank (larger): 80 litres.

Also the engine was not transversely mounted in the chassis like the normal Bagheera, but mounted longitudinally on a sub-frame. Since the two engines were back-to back, with one facing the opposite way to the other, the crankshafts rotated in the opposite directions so the two crankshafts were joined by a complex reversing gear and Morse chain mechanism, to give a combined output to the transaxle.
 The cars exterior

Your statement that the cars exterior remained unchanged is untrue. Compared to the Series 1 Bagheera, the U8 had extended wheel arches all round to match the larger wheels and tyres, a lengthened body, between the door and rear wheel arch, and the rear treatment is different with altered bodywork and different lamps as you can easily see if you put photos of the two cars side by side. They put two dummy vent slots on the extended bodywork just in front of the rear wheel arches, which didn't exist on the original Bagheera. The extended wheel arches were considered to look good enough that when the Series 2 Bagheera came out, it had these incorporated into the bodywork.
