The original ML series don't have much to offer, but when you put that awesome AMG 5.5 litre V8 engine in it it becomes a whole new beast. Generally I think the BMW X5 is a better drive (considering both types of 4x4 are not really designed for off roading) but you have to admire the shear power you get from the AMG engine. It is powering a 2.2 tonne car to almost 150mph. That's an achievment in my book. For the ultimate 4x4 though, you can't beat a Range rover for luxury or a bowler wildcat for in-destructability. |
