One of the best of its class

First of all I'd like to say out right that I think the new Megane is the most beautiful car in its class... I think Mr. Quement and his team have crafted a unique futuristic design that looks both sporty and classy at the same time. When seen from the side, the car looks like its moving, even when stationery. A friend compared it's shape to a bullet's, and I think he hit the nail right on the head. But appearance is not going to get you very far alone, is it? Thankfully the Megane is really great to drive. Though not really sporty due to its family car aspirations which demand softer suspension, it holds the road well and does not surprise the driver when pushed to the limit. What's most impressive though, is the comfort it offers. You really get the feeling of a much larger, more expensive car when you drive it - and the quality interior has a lot to say about that. The cabin has great noise dampening, a fact made clear especially on the motorway. As for the engine range, well there's something for everyone, petrol engines at 1.4, 1.6 and 2.0 litres and two diesels, a 1.5dCI and the best of the range, the 1.9dCI. The only thing that is a letdown in this car is the power steering, which doesn't inform the driver too well, but, as the speed increases, this improves a bit.

Keep up this work Renault. 7 consecutive Megane versions will hopefully alter Europe's street scenery from dull to daringly 'fresh'.

this is a very beautiful car, she has a original design. If you wouldn't know what car is you'l thig is a renault because that is the specific design of renault, It's total diferent that anterior edition, her performances complete the presentation. That is showed by the competition car of the year where Megane II win.

Can't say if it's ugly or if it's beautiful, perhaps time will tell. But bold it is, i have to definitely give Renault's designers that, chapeau!!

there's no pics of the megane RS at the moment , even the guys from the main French Clio RS forum have only pics of the 1.6L 16V in the streets. Some are well connected with Renault , they say the Megane RS is even a little different from the 3 doors version. I like the 2 doors version , not that much the 4 doors one

This is a good example of when a company compleatly changes their design to build their whole new range of car after the same new style. Identity, that what they need and you have seen the similar scenario in Volvo. They built the S80 and followed it up with the s60 which has similar genes. BMW have also done the same thing with Chris Bangel and so did Mercedes back when they introduced the dual headlight look. Audi also. The whole idea of the modern car is to give it identity. You see the Laguna and now the Megane. Shocking? No, this is how it works and Renualt will not be the last company to do this.

This car will be very succesfull in the sales I think. It has the same style as its concurent Peugeot 206 but with the looks of the Renault cars in higher marketsegments
