"Simply, if you buy an IS300, your passport has to say AMERICAN CITIZEN on it. "

Especially if you live in the US. The 2JZ IS300 was the only engine option available in the American market. So you know, the JDM Wagon variant also came with the 2JZ, so the engine option wasn't designated solely for the US market. The wider and lower powerband of the 2JZ-GE makes more sense for the upmarket Lexus variant here in the States as well.

I think the IS300 is/was a great low-maintenance alternative to the similarly priced but somewhat (or considerably) less reliable 325i and C230. My 2003 IS300 has over 100,000 miles on it and is still running like it's brand new. Money well spent, I should think.
 Not Needed!!!
Need 4 Speed

The IS200 is the only one you need. People moan about the is200 not having enough power and speed. Well drive up to Alton Towers and go on Oblivion if you want speed. Dick*eads. This is an expensive alternative made for the American market and a ticket including petrol to alton towers is around 150. Think 150 or 3000?? Well there you go. I know which price i would like to pay. It is sooo obviously MADE FOR THE AMERICAN MARKET. How many cars have been ruined because they are mande for the american market??? Jag S-type, totally mucked up. So what is the problem with an IS200??? Simply, if you buy an IS300, your passport has to say AMERICAN CITIZEN on it.
