I purchased a SSEi model of the Bonneville and WoW, what a wonderful car. I have never looked back. I do believe Pontiac can improve on the their interiors. My wife purchased a Lexus ES300 and that interior is the one to copy. I have not seen a better overall tasteful interior by any other car maker including Audi and Jaguar. That said, I am waiting to see if there are real improvements in the new GXP interior. I am already a fan of the Bonneville SSEi and I would vote with my dollars again if the V8 version improves over my SSEi. I do not think that will be problem. Time will tell, but my dealer already has my reservation for a test drive. In fact two models, the new GTO and GXP. Can't wait.

Here's another GM attempt to stay in a market that they've lost a long time ago....they take their front-drive Bonneville, plop a V-8 engine in, and pretty up the horrible plasticky interior with bright bits and (WOW>>>HOLD ME BACK!!!) pedal covers, and expect the world to aplaud...well, it ain't gonna happen. Now it's just a FAST tacky automobile!

It's about time Pontiac returned with a V-8. Like the Aurora's V8, this one is derived from the Northstar. I went to the Atlanta Auto show expecting to see this wonder, but was disappointed when all they had was a vague picture. Not even any brochures! This is a product of Lutz being brought into the fold at GM. Trying to work some performance excitement like he did at Chrysler. I'll wait a year after it's introduction (every one knows GM 1st year products can be buggy) before taking an order.

This engine is actually a bored version of the 4.0 Aurora V-8.

"This is the car I've been waiting for. I've read in a few places that the Quad Cam V8 is not Northstar derived but completely new, but this site is another push in the ""northstar derived"" direction."""

As this car will most likely never come to Europe it would be an interesting car though for Avis and the likes to include in their fleet. May we return to the days when Hertz offered the Shelby Mustang GT500 (however with autobox only).
